This tree was in our front yard and was during pretty poorly, so Kate decided an extraction was necessary. The guys piled some of the wood in a spot where the afternoon sun hit it just right.

I almost didn't come here since the sky wasn't terribly interesting on the day I was in Madison. I've had too many nice building shots ruined by gray/white skies. But as I was leaving the seminar hotel at the end of the day, the clouds looked interesting. So I drove over to this church to see what opportunities it presented. As their web site says, parking is a problem. And they appear to be doing a major construction project at the church. So, I parked my car illegally, spent a few minutes snapping a few pictures of the obvious and most interesting architectural feature, and left. They offer tours of this church and it IS a UU church, so maybe we'll come up here on a Sunday after they've completed construction, do church, and then take pictures. The shot would be better in the morning light anyway.

Stchuck and I were trying to photograph this statue on Tuesday night. I went past it on Thursday morning to see how it looked with early morning light - not too bad (the statue faces east). But the flag that we were trying to get in the background wasn't waving, so we'll have to keep trying. The sky was definitely blue, though.
